LONGHAIRED BABY MICE

We breed fancy mice for PETS ONLY. We do NOT sell our mice for feeders. We only breed from healthy, good-tempered mice so that the off-springs will be just that.

Mice make excellent pets. Like other small rodents, they are nocturnal but never mind being woken up during the day and you'll actually find them quite playful. Mice can live with each other, as opposed to hamsters, for example, which will fight as adults if left in the same cage, sometimes even to death. I have found, that in contrast to other small animals, mice do not bite (unless squeezed too tight) and are easy to tame. My daughter has been handling mice(supervised, of course) since she was 3 1/2 years old and she has never once been bitten!

Mice like living in groups and are they are fun to observe. Mice are easy to care for. The only requirement in caring for mice is that their bedding is changed every 5 days or so, and that they are given fresh water and food daily.

I also want to add that a medium size exercise wheel is a must for mice! They will constantly run on it and being a medium size, two mice can use it as the same time. Mice are lots of fun for all ages.

We specialize in longhaired and curly haired mice. We have satin mice in both coat types.

Our mice are handled daily and we only use the best products for them. We use glass tanks for cages because they are safe, easy to clean, and protect the mice from drafts, which they are very sensitive to.

For bedding we use Carefresh, recycled paper shavings only. Some people combine Carefresh with aspen shavings, and that is ok, too. Pine and cedar shavings should never be used. They are harmful to a mouse's sensitive respiratory system.

I prefer using recycled paper products, myself. Once I had a bad experience of finding mites in wood shavings, when I was still experimenting with different products for my mice!

Our mice are fed mostly Harlan Lab Blocks, with supplements of seed mixtures, vegetables(like carrots, lettuce and corn) and sometimes fruit(bananas, grapes, blueberries, etc..). We have also found that they love multi-grain crackers and corn chips and cheddar flavored crackers as treats.
